"We would like to say how much we enjoyed your performance at the Goulburn Railway Station last Saturday. We were on the Steampunk Train trip from Sydney to Goulburn which was most enjoyable and it was capped off with your fantastic musical welcome at the station."

- Steampunk Passenger from Cronulla, NSW

Having donned a splash of Steampunk themed accoutrements and readied ourselves with the prerequisite lengths of shaped metal tubing, Lilac City Brass assembled on Platform 1 at Goulburn's Victorian era railway station. The sun was out and the mood was high in anticipation of the arrival of the steam train from Sydney, carrying passengers for the 2024 Steampunk Victoriana Fair. After playing a number of well received tunes for those waiting on the platform, a distant whistle was heard. The boiler plate of the locomotive came into view, puffs of steam were released, and dog box carriages slowly drew to a halt at the platform. We played "Wake Me Up Before You Go, Go". (Rather apt after a long train ride!).  As the passengers alighted, the platform quickly became crowded. Well, what a buzz. The atmosphere was wonderful. Sleepy passengers started to pick up the vibe and those who were not bopping and dancing along the platform towards the exit, tarried to film the band before making their way to their final destination of the weir. It was terrific to be a part of making their journey to Goulburn welcoming and exciting.

Shortly afterwards, the band played in the Belmore Park rotunda. The small crowd quickly grew, as curious shoppers drawn towards the music, came to relax on the grass to enjoy the entertainment.

It certainly was a fantastic day and from all accounts, a grand time was had by all.
